Traditionally naval architecture was regarded more as a craft than a science with a hull form derived from half block models and much store being held in the saying “if it looks right, it is right”. However, as ships and other floating structures developed both in size and complexity the craft developed into a science and the naval architect of the twenty first century is very much a multi. This course presents principles of naval architecture, ship geometry, hydrostatics, calculation and drawing of curves of form, intact and damage stability, hull structure strength calculations and ship resistance. It introduces computer-aided naval ship design and analysis tools. Projects include analysis of ship lines drawings, calculation of ship hydrostatic characteristics, analysis of.

Download Best Architecture Books for free: No doubt that reading is the simplest way for humans to derive and constructing meaning in order to gain a particular knowledge from a source. This tendency has been digitized when books evolve into digital media equivalent – E-Books. This week we bring to you some best architecture books that are available for free online, you may download more.

Diploma in Naval Architecture, the leading international marine and ship surveying training course by distance learning. This Diploma course will help you develop and apply key theories and principles associated with the design, construction, repair, modification, stability and operation of vessels and other floating structures operating within the marine environment.   Principles of Yacht Design, and SKene's Elements of Yacht Design are the bibles on this subject and I highly recommend them. You can get all of these directly from Amazon, orr you can get them from Amazon through the book store on my web site. SNAME does have papers available on small craft design. They have a separate Small Craft Committtee.

Naval architecture is an engineering field covering the technology in design of ships and floating structures. The persons having this expertise are called naval architects. To build these structures, shipbuilders requires design plans and guidelines prepared by naval architects.
